Welcome
The House of Eberstein is an online Jewelry Boutique showcasing the work of Gretchen von Eberstein.
Gretchen has been designing jewelry for over fifteen years from her studio in Travis Heights just blocks from the SoCo shopping district. She has participated in many art shows over the years around Texas. Some of the larger shows include the Texas Renaissance Festival, Scarborough Fair, Blue Genie Art Show, Austin's "Le Garage" and the Renegade Craft Fair. Some of her more recognized jewelry patrons include Austin's own Liz Lambert, ZZ top's Billy Gibbons & Alejandro Escovedo.
She creates jewelry using lost wax casting, enameling and fabrication techniques. Much of the production materials come from recycled sources. The pieces she designs reflect her widely varied interests such as the archeological and scientific discoveries during the Age of Enlightenment, the Romance of 18th Century sea mythos, Science Fiction and the 1970's & 80's Punk music Scene.
